In 2001, Heather B. Armstrong started the blog Dooce.com, where she wrote honestly and openly about her life, family, and job. A year after Dooce.com was born, she was fired from her job because of her blog's content. In the end, Heather won, because her blog skyrocketed in popularity after her firing. In fact, her story and blog grew so popular that the site became part of pop culture lexicon. Even now, when a person is fired because of content on his/her blog, it is said that he/she was "dooced."
